How to Track Traffic on a Blogger Blog
Blogger tracks visitors to your blog so you know what people search for or view the most. It also tells you what search engine they used to find you and the terms used in that search. Unfortunately, it provides limited information and you may need to know more about the visitors to your blog. When promoting your blog, knowing what content your readers find interesting helps create a better following. Using additional stat counters helps you track the traffic on your Blogger blog.
  1. Select a stat counter, such as Google Analytics or Statcounter, to add to your Blogger layout. All stat counters track the traffic to your blog but each provides different layers of information.

  2. Follow the directions given by your selected counter, as each one is different depending on your preferences. Ensure your blog information is correct for accurate traffic counts. Keep this Web page open while preparing Blogger for the stat counter.

  3. Log in to your Blogger account in a new browser window. Select the "Layout" to go to the layout page.

  4. Click "Add a Gadget" in any of the blank sections available. Select "HTML/JavaScript" by clicking the "+" sign.

  5. Copy and paste the code provided on your stat counter page into the "Content" area in the "Configure HTML/JavaScript" pop-up box.

  6. Press the "Save" button to add the code to your Blogger layout page and then click "Save" on the Blogger "Layout" page to save the your Blogger blog.

  7. View your Blogger traffic by logging into your stat counter website.
There is a link to view Blogger traffic located on your Blogger page. Click "Stats" to compare the traffic Blogger records to another stat counter you install.
Different traffic counters read visitor information differently. Keep this in mind when comparing Blogger information to your stat counter records.
