How to Add a Read More Option to Blogspot

Blogspot, also known as Blogger, supports the inclusion of "read more" tags in blog posts. Although the blogging site does not support automatic excerpts as do many content management systems for websites, you can manually create a "Read More" tag, effectively creating your own post excerpt. The shortened versions of the posts will be displayed rather than the full piece.

1. Sign in to your Blogspot blog. Click on "New Post" to create a new post, or click on "Edit Post" to add the "Read More" button to an existing post.


2. Navigate to the part of the post to which you want to add the button.


3. Click on the "Broken Page" button on the post editing bar. This adds the "Read More" button.


4. Type the "Read More" shortcode instead if you are using the HTML editor.

5. Click on "Publish Post" to publish the post with the "Read More" button.
